The book continues to grow beyond its historic role as an information medium. Especially in the field of photobooks, the concerted efforts by people with a shared set of values can lead to books which go beyond merely reproducing original artworks as-is. When all components of the publishing process align, the resulting photobook possesses the potential for a new, sublime power of expression. Case Publishing is a Tokyo based publisher founded in 2015. We publish the many potential forms of photobooks: from more conventional photobooks-as-catalogues, which represent works with minimal intervention; photobooks-as-books, which photographers to their fullest to express their visions; to photobooks-as-collective-expression, in which artists and specialists from diverse fields—photographers, designers, printers, critics—work together to create encompassing, new forms of the book.
